If you want Korean-style sashimi, this is the place to go. We had a party of 5 and we ordered the large size special sashimi combo. Considering the amount of side dishes and maeuntang that they give at the end, the large size was more than enough for the 5 of us. The sashimi was super fresh-- I especially really liked the gwangeo sashimi and the lobster sashimi. All the side dishes were really great too and the maeuntang was to die for!! Service was fast and ambiance was very casual-- good to come with friends and family! I'll definitely be coming back when I'm craving sashimi!

If you're looking for Korean style sashimi, this is the place to go. Just look at how fresh the sashimi is! The sashimi is cut thickly and I don't ever get the feeling that they freeze their fish before serving. The Gaboja Specials (comes in three sizes: small, medium, large) comes with so much food. I went with five people and the large size was perfect for us. It comes with a bunch of small bites as appetizers (all absolutely amazing) with the main course of sashimi and other raw seafoods like raw lobster. For the last dish, it comes with a spicy seafood hotpot which is super refreshing and a great finish to the meal. I will say the one thing I don't like about this place is that the food comes out at such a fast pace that I can never keep up! The dishes end up piling on top of each other and I end up forgetting about the earlier ones because they get pushed to the side. The server was super nice though and helped us choose the best menu for our party! While it is on the pricier side, I think it's reasonable given the type of food being served. Some of the fish are hard to get here in the states which can make them super expensive. I think it's 100% worth the splurge and great to go once in awhile.

I have been craving for seafood such as sea cucumber and abalone and I'm glad I got to have it before summer gets here and food was fresh. Perfect pairing with sake and soju.

For a Korean style sushi sashimi restaurant this place was decent and good quality fresh seafood! We got live octopus, variety sashimi platter, flounder sashimi platter, uni, sea cucumber, abalone variety seafood platter as well as seafood stew and all came with variety of side dishes. I have never had live octopus, and this was an experience. Just dip it in sesame oil, texture is chewy. The tentacles stick to your mouth at first but it'll get easier to chew. Their sashimi platter was nice but felt like there could've be more added to platter. For the price, it was a little disappointing. Flounder sashimi was so good. When it's fresh, the flounder sashimi has this chewy texture and tastes so good with Korean spicy pepper paste sauce. Their abalone and sea cucumber was good too! I grew up eating sashimi so this was nostalgic. Seafood stew was good. Nothing too special but goes well with steamed rice. This stew is made from leftover scraps of the sashimi fish and some veggies. Slightly spicy but nothing too overwhelming. If you are looking for a Korean sushi sashimi restaurant good for groups, i recommend this restaurant.

My friends and I went here recently despite my previous bad experience; He was raving about the sushi and I figured I needed to give them another chance. Okay, kind of crazy but I really enjoyed their sushi this time around. I believe their sashimis is based upon availability. [[Food: 4 of 5]] This time we ordered regular sushi and sashimi combo. The plate came with yellow tail, salmon, tuna, squid, ikura, and a few other fish that I can't remember. -Salmon was nice and fresh, -Squid was cold and chewy, -Yellowtails soft, -Tuna.. i personally do not like so no comment on that! -The regular sushi that came along with the dish was just your generic California roll, but it wasn't bad! [[Ambiance: 5 of 5]] When we went, it was before dinner so it wasn't too busy yet. There was maybe only 1 other table there with us, it wasn't quiet but it wasn't loud either. Just an average ambiance, casual, good place to hang with friends. [[Service: 5 of 5]] The type of service you get here is different than that of going to American restaurants, they don't stop by to ask if you're doing okay or if you need anything- but if you need something, you can just slightly raise your hand to grab their attention and they'll be right over.

Ga Bo Ja = Let's go (in Korean) It was my first time here and the food was pretty good. I got the bulgogi lunch box and I enjoyed it! It had a little bit of everything so it was nice! This restaurant seems to specialize in sushi! So if you want sushi, try this place! My friends liked their sushi entrees. The staff was overall nice. Parking isn't too bad and there is a pretty good number of seats inside.

Wow what a hidden little gem in Annandale. Some of the freshest seafood and buttery/melt in your mouth sashimi in the area. We got the large gaboja special and they gave us a plate of uni and toro on the house. Abalone, lobster tail, sashimi, octopus, flounder, squid, yellowtail finished off with a spicy seafood stew with the body of the lobster.

First time trying out this place. We made reservations for 4 in the room beforehand because we wanted privacy + social distancing. They don't usually take reservations for 4 in the room but they were nice enough to give us one. My family of 4 ordered the "gaboja special medium (3-4 people)" and was told it might not be be enough for 4 people but we still ordered it because we can always order more if we need. However, it was a lottttt of food and my family of 4 struggled to finish all of it. The fish were all fresh and the side dishes were all very delicious as well. Gaboja is a korean restaurant so they definitely had a lot of dishes that I wouldn't see at a typical Japanese sushi restaurant. So it was a unique experience. My parents especially liked it. Also I don't usually expect good service at Korean restaurants but the servers here were sooo nice! Especially the younger woman serving us was very friendly and accommodating. The only down side is that the restaurant itself isn't at its best shape. The ceilings look like they're about to fall apart. Definitely need some renovating! I would definitely recommend trying out this place! But I would also recommend making reservations for the room as it does have a bit of a gloomy atmosphere for regular seatings.
